Corporate Controller
World Energy Solutions, Inc., the operator of leading online exchanges for energy and environmental commodities is looking for an experienced, “A-level” player to fill our Corporate Controller position. World Energy’s award-winning online auction platform enables customers to secure a highly competitive price for their power and green credits via structured auction events and our post and respond procurement system. World Energy’s customers include federal and state government agencies, Fortune 500 commercial and industrial corporations, utilities, and independent power producers and renewable energy project developers.

The Corporate Controller will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the accounting and control functions of the Company. You will also be responsible for maintenance and utilization of internal accounting software, as well as, developing and producing monthly management reports and external financial statements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review accounting output for accuracy and integrity
  • Develop policies and guidelines for staff to follow
  • Corporate taxes:
    • Income
    • Sales and Use
    • Payroll
  • Coordination of annual audits and gathering of information for the same:
    • Form 10-Q and 10-K
  • Coordinate and administer an adequate plan for the control of accounting including profit planning, sales forecasts and accounts receivable
  • Prepare quarterly analysis of product line P&L’s
  • Compare performance with operating plans
  • Provide reports and interpret results to all levels of management
  • Forecast short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations
  • Assure protection for the assets of the business through internal control
  • Monitor all financial data levels and advise management regarding variances to budget

Job Requirements:

  • CPA
  • Recent relative SEC reporting experience
  • Minimum 6 years experience
  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in accounting
  • Revenue recognition experience
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills; resourceful and detail oriented
  • Dependable, reliable and professional
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic

Highly desired skills:

  • Sarbanes-Oxley implementation experience
  • Merger and acquisition experience
  • Big 4 experience a plus
  • Recent experience as Controller in a $15 to $50 million public company
  • Expertise with MS Office Applications
