World Energy Solutions, Inc., the operator of leading online exchanges for energy and environmental commodities is looking for an experienced, driven, “A-level” professional to join our successful, entrepreneurial team in our dedicated and accomplished Operations Department.  The ideal candidate enjoys a professional environment, comfortable in an analytical role, and possesses moderate/advanced level Excel skills.

World Energy’s award-winning online auction platform enables customers to secure a highly competitive price for their power and green credits via structured auction events and our post and respond procurement system. World Energy’s customers include federal and state government agencies, Fortune 500 commercial and industrial corporations, utilities, and independent power producers and renewable energy project developers.

Internships take two forms – part-time academic year and full-time summer.  We currently have openings at our Worcester, MA headquarters location.

The thrust of our internship program is to nurture the best and the brightest.  Exposure to the deregulated energy industry; inner workings of a company; perfecting research, organizational, and communication skills are a few of the benefits that our interns have been afforded.

Responsibilities include:

• Gathering, organizing, and entering client bill information
• Preparing RFP’s for auction
• Preparing and distributing company marketing materials
• Researching utility rules and regulations
• Basic office administrative duties

The ideal candidate will have:

• Spreadsheet skills
• Attention to detail
• Internet research skills
• Strong work ethic
• Energy experience a definite plus
• Preferred Major: mathematics, business, economics with a substantial interest, if not experience, in the energy industry.

Required available hours:  12-15 hours during the school year; 32 hours during the summer
